Dental Implants

Tooth loss can now be treated with a revolutionary new technology – dental implants.

Traditional tooth replacement treatments such as dentures and bridges have never successfully mimicked the function of natural teeth. Dental implants are a permanent solution to tooth loss, and are identical to your natural teeth in appearance, feel and function.

Restore your natural oral structure

Dental implants are essentially ‘screws’ that are placed into the jawbone, and are a substitute for a missing tooth root. This procedure helps retain the bone structure of the jaw, which begins to deteriorate when a tooth is lost. Dental implants also decrease the chance of gum tissue shrinkage and TMJ syndrome.

A permanent solution to tooth loss

The implants we use at our Northern Beaches dental practice are made of a titanium alloy that provides long lasting strength and high compatibility with your natural jaw bone material. Over a period of three to six months, a successful titanium implant integrates with the jaw bone (a process called osseointegration), creating a permanent foundation for prosthetic teeth or fixed dentures.

Dental implants are particularly beneficial as they do not rely on the support of other existing teeth, and so can be used to restore cases of total tooth loss.
